This Full Moon falls in the Hindu month of Vesakha (gateway to the angels / dragon's gate) Vesak / Buddha - Enlightenment Moon. This is also the celestial palace of Angels and Love.

Vesak is the most important of the Buddhist festivals and is celebrated on the full moon in May (Vaisakha). It celebrates the Buddha's birthday, and, for some Buddhists, also marks his enlightenment and death. Traditionally called Buddha Purnima, Purnima meaning the full moon day in Sanskrit. Vishaka is the gateway to the Angels and therefore creating an Angel Altar will bring blessings.

Vesak is celebrated with much color and gaiety. Homes may be cleaned and decorated. In many countries during the festival, Buddhists will visit their local temple for services and teaching, and will give offerings to the monks of food, candles and flowers. Chanting and praying are an important part of Vesak. Decorate your home with flowers, incense, candles and lights. This is a day to remember to live a righteous and noble life, to practice loving-kindness and to bring peace and harmony to humanity. 'Bathing the Buddha' is a ceremony often included. Water is poured over the shoulders of the Buddha as a reminder to purify their own minds from greed, hatred and ignorance. Gifts are taken to an altar to be offered to the Buddha statues. This shows respect and gratitude to the Buddha for his life and teachings.
During the celebration of Vesak it is important to bring happiness to others. Help the poor, the unfortunate and aged people. Spend a great deal of this day on fasting and praying. Feed garden birds to feed your dreams.
